A-side features "Valleys Of Neptune," one of the most sought after of all of Hendrix's commercially unavailable recordings. "Valleys Of Neptune" is the title track of the forthcoming Jimi Hendrix album Valleys Of Neptune, featuring 12 previously unreleased studio recordings - over 60 minutes of unheard Jimi Hendrix!

B-side features "Cat Talking To Me," a previously unreleased 1967 recording with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. "Cat Talking To Me" is a non-album bonus track available exclusively on this single.

Mixed by Eddie Kramer, the engineer for all of Hendrix's albums throughout the guitarist's lifetime.

Produced by Janie Hendrix, Eddie Kramer and John McDermott - the team behind all of the acclaimed Jimi Hendrix CD and DVD releases since 1996.

I first heard this track, pretty much as is in the early 90's on Timelines, and since then have been wondering why it wasn't on any of the newer releases. It is a great song from a great time period for Jimi, and even though it probably isn't as finished as he would like it, it is still a great song. The 45 itself is very nice, if not a little pricey (anyone remember when 45s were .99-1.99?), and for the collector worthwhile. Everytime I listen to Hendrix I wonder what would have been if he lived...

I never intended to open this product but the unreleased B side may change that.

I enjoy all things Hendrix and find these new releases refreshing. I was a a young fan during his prime and we were all shocked to see him go so fast along with Morrison and Joplin.

Thank goodness they live through their music.

This is a new product so rating the vinyl on its condition isn't necessary. It came very protected in a box and the record was sealed, a little unusual for a 45 but that's ok. I'm a collector and I don't plan on breaking the seal.

This is totally worth having, the artwork is beautiful and Cat Talking to Me is an excellent track. Of course, Jimi doesn't sing it; Mitch Mitchell does (though Jimi wrote it). But Mitch's voice makes this sound like something off of Traffic's "Mr. Fantasy." Cool stuff.
Caveat ~ side A, Valleys of Neptune, skips all over the place on my player. Thankfully, the unheard B-side does not at all. (I've got the Valleys CD already).

Now this is good stuff. Both sides. And it has the traditional 45rpm sized hole that has allowed me to put it in the jukebox. Usually when posthumous music is released it is made up primarily of tracks that were initially scrubbed. Both of these tracks were worthy of release during Hendrix (and Mitchell's) lifetime.
